This is my first GPS unit (I’m also a very new driver) and I absolutely love this thing. It gives you plenty of warning before you have to turn or switch lanes. It’s very user friendly and the graphics are awesome

Got this from my wife for Christmas because we were getting to my kids hockey games late trying to find the arenas!! The last game was at a rink that I had never been to and the TomTom led us right to the door!! VERY accurate time estimates, VERY easy to use and “hear”. I am also a pro musician and trying to find the clubs we play can be a chore as well. NOT NO MORE!!! Many personal preference settings and small enough to take with anywhere as like a “handheld”. This is my first “automotive” gps unit and the features are GREAT! walking, driving, finding p.o.i.

After reading several reviews, I found that almost everyone liked this GPS EXCEPT for the fact that the volume was low. On the contrary, the volume is exceptional; in fact, I actually find myself turning it down. This GPS is everything I was looking for; I would recommend this product to anyone looking for a inexpensive GPS.

This is the 2nd TomTom ONE 130 GPS we bought. This was a gift. Very pleased with the GPS- easy to use, accurate and small enough to put in a pocket or purse.

4 Stars This thing ROCKS!
Once you get updated, download the map corrections to, turn it on stick to your window or dash, and your DONE! Volume is great, it warns you early enough before a turn or exit, it even knows how fast you are going! It doesn’t come with ALL the bells and whistles of the way over priced high end models. But it does have everything you need to get from point A to point B without getting lost! Even if you make a wrong turn, TomTom will get you back on track!!

4 Stars Tom Tom One XL – Not too bad
The Tom Tom One XL is very good! Used it for the first time a couple weeks ago. I had really foggy weather driving at night and could really see well and the Tom Tom helped navigate me through towns I wasn’t familiar with. However, the I did find that the map update wasn’t all that good in the rural areas that had put in wider and straighter highways. It was still directing me to the old road locations that no longer existed or took me to old locations that went through tiny streets and towns only to come back to the same highway at the other end. It did not pickup addresses well on military installations where I seemed to struggle the most (Ft Benning, GA)driving in circles. And the bluetooth wasn’t compatible with my phone which I didn’t know until I opened the box read the instructions. Might have been more helpful it that was located as part of the specs. Nonetheless, for only $99 I received a good product and it still managed to get me to my locations with just a little struggle where I was going in blind.

I purchased the Tom Tom ONE XL as a Christmas present to myself and I think it is just WONDERFUL. It is easy to use and the screen is big enough for me to see. The turn-by-turn instructions were clear and precise. I would recommend this product to anyone and everyone whether they just do a little driving, or a lot of driving.

We purchased our TomTom One XL just before the Holidays (2008) to use on a trip from Tennessee to Michigan, with a couple stops in between. The unit worked as the manufacturer claimed. One thing we found annoying is when we veered off the planned route, this model does not “recalculate” automatically as some other models do. It was easy to find a new route, but must be done manually. The unit performed great – it does not speak the name of the street to turn on, however it is very explicit in telling you what lane to be in and when to turn, and the name of the street you’re looking for is displayed. We like the 4.3″ screen. We are very happy with this purchase and highly recommend this model.

For my use I think this is a great product. Sound is good, display is very good. entering of information is easy. I bought this for my wife who couldn’t pour water out of a boot if the directions were written on the bottom. She has no trouble with the use of it.

I bought this as a Christmas Present for my GF. She has a slight problem with directions and I thought this would be a great help. We took a trip to Chicago and she printed off directions from one of the on-line map sites. We hooked up the TomTom and put in the address we were heading to. It told us how long the trip would take and kept it updated along with the distance. Turn by turn right to the front door. It worked so well, we never did use the printed directions and my GF is now a believer in the TomTom. Well worth the investment.

I bought bought the Tom Tom One XL, because of a road trip I took with my sister. My parents had bought her a Tom Tom One, that we used on the trip. (She was forever getting lost and calling everyone for directions) I was impressed with the capability of the Tom Tom and the ease of use. However, the only thing that I didn’t like was the smallish size. So I looked around at reviews for other models and brands, and finally decided on the Tom Tom One XL. Some have complained about the fact that (the version I bought) doesn’t have text to speech where it announces streets as you pass them, but I don’t really mind that it doesn’t have it. I have found it fairly easy to use. One thing that I don’t like is that sometimes it gives me routes that I know there is a faster route because I had tried several different routes to determine which would be faster. I soon realized this happens because the maps don’t have the speed limits for parts of a road or a whole road, and so it can’t calculate those roads in giving the shortest route. It also has some trouble when a business is on a corner with entrances on both sides, but the address as all addresses are, for a street address, and so it will sometimes give you a more circuitous route then would be perfered.

I’ve downloaded several voices for my TomTom, and I’ve found I liked C3PO the best (even though my mom hated it).

The TomTom has saved me a ton of paper, because I used to go to map quest and then print out the routes when I would try to go somewhere new. I first tested it out on trips to places I knew how to get to, and for the most part it took me the routes I knew to be the quickest (exceptions above).

I’d also like to add that since my sister has had her Tom Tom One, she has only called me once for directions and that was because the place she was looking for had gone out of business and was no longer where it was supposed to be.

So other than a few issues with TomTom’s maps, it’s a great product that’s very useful. I would definitely recommend it to anyone who’s looking to buy a GPS unit.

I bought bought the Tom Tom One XL, because of a road trip I took with my sister. My parents had bought her a Tom Tom One, that we used on the trip. (She was forever getting lost and calling everyone for directions) I was impressed with the capability of the Tom Tom and the ease of use. One thing that I don’t like is that sometimes it gives me routes that I know there is a faster route because I had tried several different routes to determine which would be faster. I soon realized this happens because the maps don’t have the speed limits for parts of a road or a whole road, and so it can’t calculate those roads in giving the shortest route. It also has some trouble when a business is on a corner with entrances on both sides, but the address as all addresses are, for a street address, and so it will sometimes give you a more circuitous route then would be perfered.

I’ve downloaded several voices for my TomTom, and I’ve found I liked C3PO the best (even though my mom hated it).

The TomTom has saved me a ton of paper, because I used to go to map quest and then print out the routes when I would try to go somewhere new. I first tested it out on trips to places I knew how to get to, and for the most part it took me the routes I knew to be the quickest (exceptions above).
