User Ratings and Reviews

4 Stars Great choice in an all-around GPS receiver
I bought the Nuvi 500 to replace my tried-and-true Garmin StreetPilot i3.

One of my primary considerations is WATERPROOFness… my i3 has worked great on my MOTORCYCLE touring adventures, but when the rains came, it was either in the tank bag, or in a clear sandwich bag, held in place with a rubber band – not ideal.

There are motorcycle-specific GPS receivers, but they are all significantly more expensive. Frankly, I was attracted to the multi-purpose nature of this model. I’ve used it for motorcycle rides (just trial runs so far), bicycling, hiking/walking, and driving. I’m confident there are better solutions for each individual use – if you can afford a CAR GPS, and a HIKING GPS, and a MOTORCYCLING GPS, and a BOATING GPS, knock yourself out. The Nuvi 500 seems to do a very adequate job at all of that stuff.

Another feature I was looking for – and the Nuvi 500 has it – is the ability to enter a very specific ROUTE into it, and expect accurate directions. (When I’m motorcycle touring, it’s all about the JOURNEY, not the DESTINATION. I want to plan the journey, rather than leaving it to GPS-receiver silicon. I could plan my routes using the i3, but it was a matter of entering up to 50 waypoints, and then selecting each one in sequence. Now I can just tell it to “follow route Day 2,” and off we go.)

It has “modes” for automobile, bicycle, boating, and walking. (With a myriad of avatar options… when you’re hiking, you can use some little blue trudging feet to indicate your current location. Cute!) Also, with a firmware upgrade (readily available at the Garmin website) you can add “Scooter” mode. (I’m guessing they don’t have a “Motorcycle” mode for it, because they hope motorcycle riders will opt instead for the significantly-more-pricey Zumo models. But how different could “motorcycle” and “scooter” be, other than the gay factor? That’s just a joke… scooters are great!)

This model doesn’t have some of the other features found on a lot of high-end models. If you want a unit that speaks street names, or plays your MP3 tunes, or doubles as a cell phone or bluetooth… this may not be the one for you.

My only suggestion for Garmin would be – add a place to attach a lanyard/safety-tether! It would be nice, particularly when hiking, to be able to hang this around the neck, or attach it to a backpack with a carabiner. (Or to safety-strap it to the bicycle or motorcycle!)

Based on my experience, Garmin is VERY oriented toward customer service and satisfaction. They have bent over backwards to keep THIS customer happy. (That’s a nice bonus to the fact that they make an excellent product.)

5 Stars Portable GPS
I bought this GPS system for a friend who travels on business. He brought it with him when we went skiing. We found it to be easy to use, with a very clear screen. It’s completely portable which is very handy if you have more than one vehicle. The audio comments can be turned on or off. We would highly recommend this GPS system.

5 Stars Best value for an allround GPS
I puchased this unit for mountain biking as well as driving. I am happy to say that it does both very well. The mapping is great. It’s waterproof. I couldn’t be happier with the unit.

5 Stars Garmin 500 – Very Nice
The Nuvi 500 hundred works very well in the car and on the trail. The “Where Am I” function is very useful for saving the current location or for finding near by intersections and emergency services. The included topo maps are great for hiking and driving. I bought the Nuvi 500 because I like to hike and sometimes I need to drive to a coordinate instead of an address (rural locations or geocaching). The detail is amazing. If you need a multifunction GPS, I would give the Nuvi 500 a try.

4 Stars Works great for geocaching
The unit works almost flawlessly for geocaching. I found one gpx file that causes the unit to power off when you try to navigate to the cache. Garmin is aware of the problem and is working on a fix. However, this happened only once so far…but I can’t give it 5 stars until garmin resolves it.

The paperless geocaching is a nice feature. You can use other nuvis for geocaching, but this one makes it easy to view caches. Using garmin’s communicator, you can d/l caches to your unit. You then can view the cache info, such as difficulty, terrain, hints and such. The geocaches show up on your map while driving, so you can observe caches nearby.

Definitely upgrade your firmware — it fixes some bugs. Accuracy seems pretty good (depends on # of satellites available). Several times, the compass told us we were 1 ft away — and we were! Usually it gets us within 10 ft.

Works great in the car too! The 3.5″ screen seem fine. Just wish it spoke street names (and a strap to make it easy to carry when geocaching).

All in all, we’re happy with the unit.

User Ratings and Reviews

1 Star i cannot believe it
I travel to Europe once a year and this unit looked like great and not so expensive option. Well …

1. The ‘integrated’ traffic is in car charger and you have to use additional cable which plugs into car charger – it’s so messy.

2. What is worse, the unit does not work anymore. I plugged it to my PC and followed the installation upgrade – after it was done the screen went blank and flickrs like bad frequency TV monitor and my PC does not recognize the GPS anymore.

thank you Garmin for great useless tool I have to return back to Amazon, I’m leaving for a week vacation in couple days, I guess I will have to stick with old printed map again.

little update few hours later… Amazon shipped another unit overnight for free !! This is the best customer service I’ve ever seen. I hope I will have more luck with the second unit.

1 Star Very disappointed
I went through a couple of iterations of this unit until I got one that was utterly disappointing. The first unit didn’t work having a blank screen. I returned it for a new unit and began testing it. Forget about listening to the radio if you want to hear any alerts. The speaker is cheap and it makes the voice difficult-to-understand, rendering the speaker useless. The bluetooth was not worth it since the callers could not understand what I was saying. The traffic monitor did not work either. I specifically drove towards a traffic tie-up to see what options it would suggest. NOTHING…. And, yes, you must have it plugged in since the traffic receiver is located in the cord.

I would not recommend this at all. I do believe it’s a mass-produced, expensive piece of junk.

Rutilia.

5 Stars Great tool when traveling abroad
I purchased this device a few weeks ago in anticipation of a trip to the UK. I’ve driven there before, navigating with the excellent AA road atlases, but being an American driving a right hand drive car with a manual transmission, sometimes in bad weather, I would often get task-saturated. I thought a GPS or “Sat Nav” as they call them, would make the job a little easier.

The only features that I really needed in a GPS unit were the U.S and European maps and text-to-speech, (”turn left on High street”), beyond that, additional whistles and bells didn’t matter to me.

Initially I looked at both Garmin and TomTom and decided to go with Garmin since it was less expensive to find a unit that had North American and European maps. I paid about $270 for my 275T, it was the least expensive unit that had European maps pre-installed. Buying the European map separately would cost you approximately $150 and the UK-only map runs about $99.

The 275T operation is fairly straight forward. It has all of the normal features that one would expect to find on a modern GPS unit to include a fairly robust POI (Point Of Interest) database loaded with gas stations, restaurants, airports etc… The touch screen works well and although the size is smaller, (3.5″ vs 4.3″ on some larger units), it was more than adequate to display all of the necessary information. The voice directions are very helpful, especially when driving in heavy traffic. Traffic updates in the US arrive via an FM transmitter in the charger cord, (in Europe you have to plug in an antenna wire which comes with the unit). You can also easily preload lots of destinations to your “favorites” on the device by using the Google map or Panoramio photo websites.

In the UK the 275T proved to be invaluable; you feel much freer to stray from the beaten path and do a bit of exploring knowing that your GPS will always get you to your appointed destination. The time to destination estimates were accurate and the routes were efficient. When initially turned on, the unit located satellites quickly and never lost the connection except when in parking garages, or tunnels. Sometimes when surrounded by lots of tall buildings, like in downtown London, the unit would appear to get confused about the direction in which it was pointing. Moving the car just a few dozen feet or so normally corrected this. The included Europe maps were very accurate with the exception of a new stretch of highway between Falkirk and Edinburgh which was not included on the map database. Road names, one-way streets, and parking areas were all up to date. I found the inclusion of “safety camera” locations, (read: “speed trap cameras”), to be very helpful; it even flashed a red warning when you exceed the speed limit in an area with a camera.

The only feature that I sometimes wish was included was a compass heading. If you just turn on the unit, but don’t program in a destination, your directional heading, (North, East etc…), is displayed in the lower right hand corner. However when it’s giving you directions, your estimated time to arrival takes up that area of the screen. Overall however, I thought the unit was great and I would recommend the 275T if your travels take you between North America and Europe on occasion. Renting a GPS with your car in the UK will typically add about $15 per day; use your 275T for a couple weeks and it’s practically paid for itself.

4 Stars Garmin 275T
I am quite pleased with the Garmin nuvi 275T device. It’s routing has generally been good, but when I do disagree, it resets very quickly. The Bluetooth function works very well. I do have two complaints. The first is that when you plug in a destination, it does not demonstrate a compass heading. Instead it shows the estimated time of arrival. There is a compass heading in the map view, however. Secondly, there is no mechanism to add numbers to the phone book if your cell’s phone book doesn’t automatically sync with the device. This is independent of the Bluetooth function.

4 Stars GPS Garmin Nuvi
I received my Garmin Nuvi 275 T really quickly, However the screen does not appear to be a wide screen 3.5. I am puzzled as to how you get this measurment as the internal screen width measures under 3 inches.????

So I do not know how this is measured to be classed as a wide screen.

I seems to work great. I did not receive the full instructions with it on how to add the blue tooth and may have to get these online and print them which will cost a lot of ink to do that. It is easy to use and so far has taken me to my destinations perfectly.

                  Buy/More Info

5 Stars Great all-in-one
So, finally I got my nuvi. It was a tough choice: many GPS carriers are available, and each has many models that come in vast variety of flavors. I’ve narrowed it down to Nuvi 550 for the following reasons:

1. Text to speech to me is really annoying. I want my GPS to tell me when and where to make a turn, and not worry about spending extra time looking off the road to confirm street signs.

2. I wanted my GPS to help me out more than just driving directions. I hike, I camp, I travel all over, and not just North America. I wanted the versatility of being able to navigate and pin point my location on the highway, in the mountains, offroad, and not just be able to locate nearest gas station. Before Nuvi 500/550 I would have had to purchase 2 GPS units: one for the car, one hand-held (e.g. Colorado series).

3. I needed it to be durable, and reliable. 8 hour battery life + waterproof function to me are the two features I’m very very happy with. To date, my little nuvi took 2 falls (one on the rocks, and another one flying off down some stairs — don’t ask), and I’m happy to report gadget is functioning flawlessly. I’m not advocating it’s indestructible, but it does have durable construction indeed.

4. Satellite communication is superior for the product. Leafs, heavy cloud cover, even indoors, I get fair reception. It does have its quarks rarely, but overall, it pin-points me within 10′ radius. Gotta love it. With the latest firmware update location has been even more precise, so it’s worth doing it asap. The update also adds a variety of language options and scooter mode, which is really neat.

Here’s something to be aware of… This model unlike 500 does not come with topo maps or marine maps. It felt like a fair trade because it gave me Canada, Puerto Rico, Virgin Islands and all of US maps (includes Alaska and Hawaii) vs. 48 lower states+topo in the other model only. But here’s a catch. No mapSource software. There are so many free topo maps (and for that matter many others — e.g. Israel maps, which garmin does not market) available, but there’s no way to load them. Because of the proprietary interface, mapSource is the easiest way to take advantage of all these resources. There is third party software available, but it’s not the easiest thing to use. Another annoyance is that unit does not come with any case. There are not hard to find, but still.

So, besides lacking the software, this is a great unit worth every penny. I found LCD display to have good visibility in a daylight, volume was great – I could hear it just fine with stereo on, and overall display was smart and simple. It’s small and light, so it’s easy to carry it around, and suction cup for the windshield is great, no need to get any extras. I also like the fact that it has swappable batteries. On long trips with no access to electricity, just bring a few extras, and you won’t get stuck. Really no learning curve to using it, and performance is fantastic. Great investment, no regrets here.

5 Stars Nuvi 550 better than Zumo for this Motorcyclist
For my motorcycles, I’ve had a Garmin Quest and later Quest 2 for years. I loved their small size, long-range battery and that they were water proof. But the time it took to recalculate and ability to lose satellite signal even in light tree cover became unbearable. So I began to seek an upgraded unit.

It came down to the Zumo and Nuvi 550 units because they are water proof, a requirement for my bikes. The Zumo clearly has several features the Nuvi does not, but was lacking in one critical area for me – battery life. The Zumo is rated at 4 hours, virtually requiring hard wiring. Since I use GPS on all my bikes, I did not want to go through the hassle, and the Nuvi comes with an 8 hour battery.

All it is lacking for me is the interface to enter addresses. On the Zumo it is more glove friendly. But other than that I could not be more satisfied. I use the Mapsource software from my Quest 2 to plan routes on the PC and upload to the unit. It is quick to recalculate and never loses a signal. I bought a RAM-MOUNT and it enables trouble-free and solid mounting to the bikes (just like they had done for the Quest 2).

If you don’t want to hard wire, this is a great GPS unit. Oh, and I bought a spare battery and keep it charged – now I have 16 hours – more than I’ll ever need for one day.

5 stars well deserved from this happy owner.

4 Stars It’s the right way – maybe
I’ve had a couple navigators and have found that you must caste a suspicious eye on whatever route the navigator comes up with. Don’t follow it blindly. The windshield suction cup mount that comes with the unit is useless: You can then buy their bean bag holder. The GUI is pretty nice, but I wish I could change the items in view. That said, I like the nuvi 550 alot and gave it four out of five stars.

5 Stars Amazing unit in some ways
It took me a while to understand the different between the Nuvi 500 and the 550. Look no further. Only the base map is different. The 500 comes with the lower 48 states with topographical information while the 550 includes all of North America (Canada and Mexico) and no topographical information. The units are identical otherwise.

First, the good stuff. This GPS is quickly becoming an invaluable tool for long drives. I have been able to enter a street address as well as many restaurants, hospitals, and businesses then just click on “go.” On one trip, it correctly navigated reversing direction on a double-cloverleaf turn. A pleasant voice guides you and alerts you of upcoming turns. Miss the turn and the unit will patiently wait for you to realize your error. Then, after a while it will just recalculate your route automatically. It is also possible to tweak the routes by manually entering points to divert the automatic routing or pressing “detour” on the fly if you find yourself stuck at a railroad crossing. Custom routes can be saved. Waypoints can be sorted by category and new categories can be added. Photographs can be added, although I haven’t done much with this feature. Clicking on the top bar will display the route turn by turn. I found the routing quite intelligent and much prefer this unit over my last human co-pilot (but I hope that she never reads this review). This particular unit has a rechargeable battery and the unit can be mounted on an optional bean bag mount to just throw it on the dash instead of messing with cables. This makes it perfect for rental cars as well. It has four modes for driving, walking, boating, or bicycling.

Next, the so-so stuff. This unit does not come with any software. There is map updating software available which can be downloaded from the website, but there is no real support for uploading and downloading waypoint information. It is possible to use Garmin’s MapSource with this unit if you have an old copy, but the Nuvi 500/550 does not seem to be fully supported. After wrestling with it a bit, I was able to download points but not modify them. And, since the background map is pre-loaded, there is no background map for MapSource. There are features which are missing, such as the ability to turn off poi’s (Point of Interest) labels or the ability to modify the lat/lon of a point once it’s created. It does not come with an a/c adapter or usb cable, but they are both available from Garmin at an outrageous price. Thankfully, the USB cable is a standard mini-USB and you may already have the cable you need at home and not know it. Once you locate a cable for it, it appears as a disk drive on Mac or PC without additional drivers. I added a microSD card, which appears as a second drive, but haven’t found a use for it yet.

Finally, the ugly stuff. 9 times out of 10 the street address translates to lat/lon coordinates within a few feet of your destination. But, once in a while, it’s a bit off translating street addresses to lat/lon and there is no way to modify this information (at least, not easily). The user data file appears on the unit as Current.gpx in xml format. However, this file appears to be only a copy of the real one. Any edit or deletion of this file is simply undone when the unit reboots. And, since there is no software with the unit, you may have to just settle for arriving close to your destination instead of it bringing you right up the driveway.

If you really want to dig into the guts of the system, the best way I found is to generate one waypoint and use the data in the Current.gpx file as a template for your personal waypoints. I created several custom .gpx files in xml format with notepad. The lat/lon can be entered easily by using Google Earth, right-click on the new point (which may first be dragged to exactly where you want it) and paste the information into notepad. When you’re done, you will have several gpx files (xml format) which will be incorporated into the unit’s memory when you reboot. The bad news is that the points must be deleted through the menu system (not a big deal) and the decision to re-load your personal files is apparently determined by the file creation date. Duplicate points or database corruption is possible, but easily undone.

Using this method, I was able to correct the lat/lon of a waypoint which was 4 houses away from the correct address. I found a more accurate location in Google Earth, deleted the point from memory, and re-loaded it through my custom gpx files. It’s actually easier than it sounds since the only software you really need is notepad. I’ve added many new waypoints by copy/paste. To create a custom category, simply name it in the appropriate tag. Routes, I imagine can be dealt with the same way but I find their format too difficult to create or modify by hand.

There’s many missing features which I’ve found on other hand-held units. There is no way to save and load personal files, other than doing it by hand. The satellite tracking and fix information has been replaced with the same type of “bars” you have seen on cell phones – easy to understand but less information. It has a touch screen, but it is not very precise, tends to make mistakes, dragging is miserable and the resolution is very bad… but, all of this is acceptable since most of the time you only need to press a few spots on the screen to start navigation. The cleverness of the unit really outshines the shortcomings of the display.

All in all, a wonderful travel companion. It’s intelligent, useful, and will keep you company on long trips. If you’re a gps hacker, you’ll find it just flexible enough make it do what you want, but it will make you wonder why Garmin makes us go through so much misery to tweak or save a waypoint to your pc.

1 Star Worthless on my 2 vehicles
Wouldn’t stick on my 2 vehicle (’95 4runner and 2000 Jetta), maybe because of the curved windshield. Bought the bean bag and am very happy with that. It’s the way to go IMHO. You can than hide it when you leave the car leaving no telltale apparatus to tempt thieves.

5 Stars Quailty Replacement from Garmin
Recently, I had my car broken into and the thieves took my charging cord and cradle but left my Garmin. This was a very inexpensive way to be able to charge and use my Garmin.

5 Stars Worked for me
We left our plug at a hotel who said no one ever turned it in, so we bought this and had no trouble at all with it. It came quickly and works great.

4 Stars Not quite an identical replacement…
I ordered a replacement for my suction-cup and A/C adapter in hopes that it would fix the periodic power-losses I am seeing with my Nuvi 660. I had my previous cable strung underneath my dashboard and up to the lower left-hand corner of my windshield which resulted in just a little bit of slack. However, when I went to replace the cable, I found that the A/C adapter cable that comes with this product is about 6 inches shorter than the stock cable that came with my Nuvi. It’s not long enough to work with my current configuration…and I will now have to find an alternate means of mounting my Nuvi.

5 Stars GPS Mount
Bought as a replacement for the OEM mount which I lost. Exactly the same as OEM. Works great.

2 Stars Not Stable
The stand shakes to much on bumpy terrain to read. needs to be reinforced. Not bad for street driving, but I use this most off road…

5 Stars Garmin Automotive mount & 3-Finger friction mount combination
I AM VERY PLEASED WITH THIS COMBINATION!! I purchased BOTH the Swiveling Automotive Mount(010-10456-00) & the 3-Finger Friction Mount(010-10503-01) by Garmin for my GPSMAP 60CSx. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND buying the COMBINATION. After reading the many reviews warning about using Just the swivel mount, I decided on the combo offered by Amazon. I had been using a cell-phone holder to place my GPS on my dash. THE PROBLEM: every mildly sharp curve, or big bump in the road sent it sliding across(or off) the dash. I found myself holding on to it most of the time. I did NOT even try the swivel mount alone, as it must have a flat, smooth surface to adhear(temporary OR permanent)! SO FAR, WITH THE 3-FINGER FRICTION MOUNT, I HAVE YET TO HAVE IT MOVE!! (I drive a 4-wheel drive Yukon, both on and off-road while Geocaching). VERY ADJUSTABLE! My wife said this is the BEST thing I have bought in a long time, as I don’t get mad at the GPS anymore. She said she would gladly have paid $155.00, not the $55.80 it cost just to have the PEACE OF MIND!

5 Stars Garmin mount
Great for in car use i use it with the beanbag mount for my Garmin 60CSX

5 Stars Garmin swiveling auto mount
Once I was able to confirm that this fit my Map60CSX AND that I needed it for the friction mount I ordered it.

It’s simple but versatile. The display on the GPS can be tilted forward/backward, rotated clockwise/ccw and spun on the base. More than I need for my dashboard use. It comes with a peel and stick adhesive piece that exactly matches the dimensions of the base, but I’ll never use it; too restrictive, that’s why I went with the friction mount.

4 Stars buy perfect
Work just perfect

I used in a car, in excursions off-road,is very comfortable,

Is a good investment, buy this is my advice.

5 Stars Is All That it is Supposed to Be
Fits with Garmin Nuvi 350 as described. Doesn’t move on dashboard. Easy to install. Easy to move your GPS from prying eyes!

5 Stars Garmin Dashboard Mount
This is a great product! I bought this for my Garmin NUVI 750 and it works great. I have an ‘04 Honda Element and this thing does not move at all when on my dash. I was using the suction cup mount that came with my GPS and that wonderful piece of equipment broke on me. This dashboard mount is not flimsy, and is made of high quality materials. It is a must have for your Garmin GPS.

5 Stars Great GPS dasahboard mount
Bought this with my Garmin 760. Great mount. Heavy enough that it won’t slip or move around in a fast car – or on a slope. Garmin snaps on easily enough. Angle of GPS can be easily rotated for optimal viewing.

I’d receommend this.

5 Stars Excellent Garmin addition
I bought this to use in my car and hoped it would stay in place as I drove. Indeed it did! It’s wonderful and stays put and very easy to manipulate and move! Highly recommended!

4 Stars Does the job, however….
This mount is working OK most of the time, However my GPS was on the floor 3 times, because bottom of the mount does not provide enough friction with dashboard material. This is my only complaint.

Other than that, quality of the product is very good.

4 Stars Garmin Dashboard mount
We have used the dashboard mount for about 3 months, and while i do not like it as well as the Garmin mount that I have for my Nuvi it has worked well. It does not move around and seems rugged. The only negative is that the Streetpilot vibrates slightly if the car is on a bumpy surface. It is a good product.

5 Stars I like this mount better than original!
I didn’t realize at first that this mount is not a suction cup that sticks to the wind shield, it’s a tripod- each of the legs is really heavy so it sits really nicely on the top of the dashboard. The car charger still plugs into the mount the way it does on the original. We’re really happy with this buy.

5 Stars Garmin Dashboard Mount Review
I have to say this Garmin Dashboard Mount is exactly what I needed. I currently use it with my StreetPilot in my 2004 Acura TL. I was concerned that the dashboard mount would not hold and would slip and slide based on some on the negative reviews I read on Amazon prior to purchasing. Well I have not experienced any problems. I have used it without problem on streets and highways, accelarating through turns and with some sharp stops and in all situations my Garmin and Dashmount stayed in place. I also wish this was the default mount provided with the StreetPilot versus the window mount which doesn’t keep the Garmin in place I found.

I also like the Dashboard mount as it makes it more convenient for me to take my Garmin and use in rental cars when I travel for business.

I would highly recommend the Garmin Dashboard Mount.

5 Stars Works! Stays Put!
Works great on the undulating dash of my Hyundai Santa Fe. Much easier to put up and down than the suction mount and doesn’t fall off the windshield at the most inopportune times.

3 Stars Better
Better than the suction cup window one which always falls. I still have to be careful when I hit the gas/brake too hard or turn sharply. It slowly vibrates down the dash and I have to move it, but its better than the suction cup marks and sudden falls with that one.

This unique hardwire power cable allows you to hardwire your receivers (with MiniUSB connector) to your car, boat, airplane, RV or ATV’s power source or battery. Never worry about carrying batteries to power and charge your device again! This cable includes an inline fuse and voltage converter circuit board to convert input voltage of 10/12 to 30 volt DC down to the 5Vdc for your Phone/GPS/PDA.

User Ratings and Reviews

5 Stars I am very pleased
This cable was everything I was hoping for. It was no problem to connect and it warks fine.

5 Stars Works Well…
Nice idea. It’s only two wires so it hooks up quickly and keeps you from having wires draped accross the dash and keeps the power outlet free. Using this with a Garmin 250w.

5 Stars Does exactly what it’s supposed to!
Not too much to say, other than this works perfectly. I wired it to a switched fuse in my car so that the Nuvi turns on and off when I start the car and stop it. You may have a problem if you mount this far from a fuse panel, as the large box is a little hard to tuck away.

3 Stars Nice item
Nice cable for direct wire up of the Garmin Nuvi. The only awkward part is the fact that the step down transformer (black egg looking thing) is only 2 feet from the plug that goes into the Nuvi. That makes it hard to hide the cable from view. It has a small led to let you know that it is connected to power and that seems to draw a small amount of current even when not plugged into the Nuvi. Keep that in mind if current drain is a concern.

4 Stars Does the job but the electronics container could be smaller
Not only will this charge the Garmin but it can also charge other mini USB devices.
